Investigation Summary
On May 5, 2005, Employee #1 of Stapleton-Spence Packing Company was in the process of pushing prune waste from under the decanter to level out the waste bin, when the unguarded moving blades of the auger caught his hand. Employee #1 was transported to Biggs Gridley Hospital, where he was hospitalized for the amputation of part of his middle finger on his left hand.
