Employee's Hand Is Crushed Between Pallet Jacks

On May 3, 2012 Employee #1 a truck driver of Safeway Inc was using a pallet jack to remove pallets of food items from his truck. Employee #1's left hand was crushed between the pallet handle jack he was operating and the handle of a forklift truck. Employee #1 was making a turn with his pallet jack. Employee #1's left hand was pinched between the handle of the parked forklift truck as the two handles met on the curve of Employee #1's turn. Employee #1 was taken to the Hospital where he was treated and released for severe crushing of the soft tissue of his left hand.
