Employee Injures Foot When Shot by Nail Gun

Employee #1, a carpenter working for a construction contractor, was standing near a wall, nailing wood in place when a coworker set a nail gun on the floor. The coworker kept his finger on the trigger of the nail gun as he set it down and the nail gun activated, shooting a nail into Employee #1's left foot. Employee #1 was hospitalized and had surgery to remove the nail from his foot. Subsequent investigation found the nail gun to be in proper working order.
