Employee receives injuries when caught by machine

On September 11, 2002, Employee #1 was working in the black plate area of a steel finishing plant. He was short on work and was given permission to help a coworker, who was operating the Number 3 side trimmer. Employee #1 was removing a coil butt from the recoiler mandrel when the feed-up table activated and he was pushed against the rotating cable. He was lifted before the feed-up table retracted, causing him to fall. He sustained back and abdominal injuries in the accident.
