Employee injured in fall from roof eave

At approximately 3:00 p.m. on July 17, 1997, Employee #1 was working on a building in preparation for painting. He was stepping from one eave to another across an 18 in. wide gap when a piece of the eave gave way under his weight and he fell 7 ft 5 in. to the ground. Employee #1 sustained a broken pelvis, for which he was hospitalized for five days.
