Employee Receives Concussion in When Truck Crashed

On October 25, 2001, Employee #1 who had been on the job for seven days was driving a loaded Volvo A35 truck down an 18 grade when the truck accelerated to an unsafe speed, jumped a beam, and hit a lower bench. Employee #1 received a closed head injury causing temporary loss of function of the left side of his body and temporary problems with his speech. Employee #1 was hospitalized for 15 days, followed by 29 days of rehabilitative hospitalization, and is now receiving outpatient rehabilitation treatments.
