Employee injured in fall when scaffold overturned

At 4:00 p.m. on April 16, 2001, Employee #1 of Gray Construction was working at a place of employment located in Alta Sierra, California. Employee #1 was seriously injured when the scaffold he was working from overturned. He was taping drywall on the ceiling of a garage in a new construction. While pulling the scaffold to reach a new section to tape, the scaffold's wheel fell off the edge of the concrete floor into a cut made in the foundation material for driveway paving. Employee #1 suffered a compound fracture of the right ankle and was hospitalized for 3.5 days.
