Employee amputates finger after contact with saw blade

At approximately 9:15 a.m. on August 2, 2001, Employee #1, a maintenance engineer, was working for Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom, California when he seriously injured while using a table saw. Employee #1 was sawing a piece of 2-ft by 4-ft material when he ran his right hand into the saw blade, amputating the right index finger and seriously cutting two other fingers on the right hand. The table saw was set on saw horses and did not have a hood guard at the time of the accident. Employee #1 was hospitalized for his injuries.
