Employee sustains leg fractures in fall from ladder

On September 5, 2003, Employee #1 was working on the third or fourth rung of a ladder using a reciprocating saw to cut wood. The saw jammed and as the employee jerked on the saw, the ladder slipped. His lower left leg fell between the ladder, and the remainder of his body fell the opposite way. The employee's lower left leg was fractured, and he fell 3 ft from an 8 ft ladder. Employee #1 was hospitalized for three days.
