Employee Fractures Leg in Fall

At approximately 6:45 p.m. on May 3, 2004, Employee #1, a laborer, was riding on the back of a front-end loader. The front-end loader was being used to transfer cow manure from the dairy farm to on-site trucks. The front-end loader hit a small depression on the dirt road, which launched Employee #1 approximately 4 feet from the side of the front-end loader. Employee #1 landed awkwardly on the ground, causing a compound fracture of his lower leg. He was admitted to the hospital to have his leg set, and he also required 80 stitches for closure of the wound.
