Employee injured when fingers lacerated by table saw

The employer, Carey Brothers, is a home remodeling contractor. Employee #1 is a lead carpenter. Just before the accident, Employee #1 was ripping a small piece of oak trim on the table saw. Apparently, the saw hit a knot and kicked the oak trim back, causing four of Employee #1's left hand fingers to be lacerated by the saw blade. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
