Employee's hand crushed between rollers of machine

Employee #1 was operating a Staudie Machine where cardboard boxes are folder glued and fed through a machine. The employee was adjusting the back stop to decrease the number of boxes being fed and was bending forward, resting his left hand on the feed section, when his left hand was pulled forward into the feed section and was crushed between the rollers. The protective guard was not installed and the machine was not shut off to perform the adjustments.
