Employee is struck by suspended load and falls

At approximately 1:00 p.m. on October 6, 2000, Employee #1 was on a tank. A wing wall which was suspended by a crane was being cut off a mobile batch plant. After the hinges were torched off, the crane wiggled the wing wall back and forth until it separated. When it separated, the wing wall swung out and struck Employee #1 causing him to lose his balance and fall 14 ft from the tank. He fractured his right hip socket and was hospitalized.
