Employee's face fractured when struck by pipe

Employee #1 was a laborer for a company installing underground fiber optic conduit. She was working at horizontal drill rig #1 when, at the request of the drill operator, she picked up a joint of pipe that had fallen from the drill rig rack and set it back on the carousel. When the operator moved the carousel, the pipe popped out of the arm and struck Employee #1 directly in the face. She sustained multiple fractures to her facial bones, for which she was hospitalized.
