Investigation Summary
On October 20, 2000, an employee replacing a drive U belt on a trailer cooling unit. The unit was set on auto start and while he was replacing the belt, it tried to start. It pulled the employee's right hand into the pulley system and amputated the tip of his right fifth finger and lacerated his ring finger. The employee was not hospitalized.
