Investigation Summary
On December 16, 2003, an employee was working as a farm laborer for a company that grew flowers for wholesale to florist shops. On the day of the accident that employee was cleaning plant debris from a grate on a mobile bulb sorting tray when his glove pulled his fingers through an opening in the grate. The tip of his left ring finger was amputated by the chain and sprocket drive below the grate. He was not hospitalized.
