Employee injured when leg pinned against pallet

On March 18, 2003, Employee #1, an employee of Raley's Distribution Center, was moving a pallet jack to let another unit go by when he inadvertently turned the steering handle and accelerated the pallet jack to the side, pinning his right ankle against a stationary pallet. He suffered a compound fracture of his lower right leg and was hospitalized.
