Investigation Summary
Employee #1 works in a flat-rolled steel processing plant as a packager at the strapping line. Just before the accident, a steel coil got stuck on the conveyor rolls. Employee #1 leaned over to release the steel coil with his left hand but the glove of his right hand was caught by the moving rollers and pulled into the guarded chain drive. The tip of his right middle finger was broken and severely lacerated. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
