Investigation Summary
At approximately 2 p.m. on December 2, 2000, an employee was seriously injured while operating a table saw at a furniture shop. He was freeing a stuck piece of wood in the table saw when he became distracted. The saw blade struck his left thumb amputating it, but the thumb was preserved and was surgically reattached.
