Sheave Block Lacerates Employee's Hand

On August 7, 2003, Employee #1, a 22-year old construction laborer with 4 months experience, was seriously injured when his right hand was pulled into a sheave block by a wire rope. The sheave was part of a makeshift hoisting operation used by another crew. Employee #1 suffered lacerations and was hospitalized.
