Employee fractures ankle after slip on ice

On November 22, 1999, Employee #1, an equipment operator, was working for a small sawmill operator. Employee #1 arrived at work at 6:00 a.m. and was walking to the 980 Caterpillar loader to start it and let it warm up. The log deck is a paved deck and was clean at the time of the accident. Employee #1 slipped on some ice and fell, fracturing his left ankle when he fell to the black top surface.
