Employee killed when run over by fire truck

Employee #1 was a volunteer with the Hawkins Bar Volunteer Fire Department. Employee #1 was a fire fighter on a large wild land fire in the Redding, California, area working under the California Department of Forestry incident command system. Employee #1 had stepped up on the fire truck after getting a soft drink for her and two other fire fighters. Employee #1 jumped off of the fire truck as it started to move forward and lost her footing due to the truck starting to move. Employee #1 was holding a soft drink in her hand, making it difficult to maintain her balance. Employee #1 stumbled backward toward the truck, fell to the ground, and was run over by the moving fire truck.
