Employee struck by falling tree

Employee #1 was working for the State Department of Forestry as a Fire Captain. He was standing in back of the truck used to transport trustees to various work locations, when he was struck by a falling tree. The Grand fir tree fell over due to snow load and ground that was saturated from rainy weather. Employee #1 received multiple fractures of his legs, back and ribs, and was hospitalized for his injuries.
