Employee's Fingers Are Amputated by Chop Saw

An employee was bundling wood molding into units as part of his normal duties at a wood products manufacture. He tied the molding with twine, stacked the units for shipment, and then used a chop saw to trim the defective pieces from the bundles. The employee was engaged in this trimming process when he put his right hand on the lower side of a unit as a cut was being made, amputating the tips of his index and ring fingers. He was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.
