Investigation Summary
This employer is a logging contractor. The employer was operating a yarder to move logs to the landing. Employee #1 works for the logging contractor as a landing chaser. Employee #1 was injured when he reached between two logs to release the chokers on them. He released the choker from the lower log and stepped in to release the upper log when it rolled striking him in the back. Employee #1's left pelvic bone was fractured when the log hit him. He apparently did not stand clear of the log that was unstable and capable of moving.
