Investigation Summary
At approximately 1:30 p.m. on October 29, 1996, Employee #1 and the property owner were conducting a survey and inspection of the property. Employee #1 noticed a scissor lift and suggested that they use it to view the property from above. They moved the scissor lift approximately 15 ft to in front of the maintenance bay doors. Employee #1 then stopped the lift and started to extend it. When the lift reached its highest extended position, it tipped over and both riders fell. Employee #1 sustained serious injuries; the owner of the property was killed.
