Employee's wrist lacerated by pneumatic cut-off saw

Employee #1 was using a CTD pneumatic cut-off saw, model M516-20, serial #164, to cut 8 ft extrusions in half. He was measuring for a stop set-up near the running saw blade when his right wrist was severely lacerated. The hood guard had been raised several inches by a chain attached to it that allowed the operator to keep the guard from automatically staying in contact with the material being cut.
