Employee injures hand with power saw

On November 15, 2001, Employee #1 was using an unguarded power saw to cut laminate board for the installation of a laminate board floor. As he was operating the power saw, he guided the board into the saw with his left hand, but misjudged the proximity of the saw blade. He contacted the blade amputating a finger, and severely cutting another finger and his thumb. Due to the traumatic injuries to his hand, he was transported to the hospital and admitted for treatment. He was hospitalized for surgical and postoperative care.
