Employee injured when thumb amputated by fork lift accident

An industrial accident happened in Union City, California, at a beverage distribution warehouse. Employee #1 was employed at the worksite. At the time of the accident he was attaching a chain pallet cage to his fork lift when the cage was struck by another fork lift. The result was Employee #1's left thumb was severed at the first digit and he was hospitalized.
