Investigation Summary
On December 30, 2004, Employee #1, a carpenter, was working for Labor Ready using a compound miter saw to cut a 6 x 6 piece of wood. He was working alone when the saw got caught in a knot in the wood, causing the wood to jump off the working surface. Employee #1's left middle finger was amputated, and he was taken to El Camino hospital, where he was treated and released the same day.
