Grinding Wheel Shatters, Fractures Worker's Finger

At 11:45 a.m. on December 29, 2008, a worker was employed by Cagwin & Dorward, a company that offered a full range of landscape services that included erosion control, water management, landscape construction and landscape maintenance. The worker was removing the top edge of an 18 in. by 18 in. block of limestone, using a Makita 9564CV, Super Joint angle grinder (Serial Number 6-43A), without a guard.
