Carpenter Installing Window Breaks Wrist When Ladder Falls

At 2:30 p.m. on July 21, 2006, Employee #1 was working as a carpenter for Shook & Waller Construction, Inc., at a site in Santa Rosa, CA. His employer provides carpentry services, such as the installation of windows, as well as framing for private residences. Employee #1 was on a 20-foot Werner aluminum ladder with a 10-foot extension provided by the employer. He was installing windows, when the ladder fell, taking Employee #1 with it. He fell approximately 15 feet to ground level, and he sustained lower back injuries and a fracture to one of his wrists. He was hospitalized.
