Employee injured in fall from scaffold

At 9:00 a.m. on December 13, 2007, Employee #1, of Landgrebe Lath & Plastering, Inc., was on a scaffold at a commercial job site, in the final stage of applying the finish coat. He was using a hawk (a light metal plate with a handle), along with a trowel, to apply the plaster coating and then smoothe it to an even, level surface. Employee #1 was reaching out to smoothe an area when he slipped and fell 15 ft to the ground. He landed on his back and right side, suffering a fractured right rib and multiple fractures to his right lumbar spine. No equipment was involved in the accident.
