Employee's Leg Is Fractured in Fall

At about 9:45 a.m. on April 30, 2006, Employee #1 was pushing a hand truck at a retail sales winery. When he placed his right foot on the wheel of the hand truck, he lost his balance and fell backward. Employee #1 was hospitalized for fractures of his left tibia and fibula. He was experienced with the use of hand trucks and small loads. The employer supplied documentation, establishing an effective safety program for this regular employee.
