Employee injured in fall from metal scaffold

At approximately 9:20 a.m. on November 18, 1999, Employee #1 was installing drywall tape from a 12-ft-high metal scaffold without guardrails on the edge of the platform. As he was conducting his activities, he lost his balance near the edge of the platform and fell through the missing guardrail. He sustained multiple fractures in the accident and was hospitalized to receive general and orthopedic surgery, and post operative treatment over a five-day period.
