Employee injured in fall through skylight

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on August 24, 1998, Employee #1, a shuttle truck driver, was retrieving a coworker's book that had fallen out of a window and onto an adjacent warehouse roof. Employee #1 climbed out the window, stepped on the roof, and stood on a skylight. The skylight panel gave way and Employee #1 fell 14 ft onto concrete. He sustained injuries and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital. This accident was recordable, but not reportable. Employee #1 went to retrieve the coworker's book as a favor, and was not asked to do so.
