Investigation Summary
Employee #1 was a flight coordinator for a catering firm that supplies meals for airlines. A crew was loading meals onto a Delta 767 at the rear of the plane. The vehicle that carries the meals has an elevated platform that lifts up to the galley door; an aluminum ramp is then placed between the plane and platform. Employee #1 was walking to the platform from the plane on the ramp when the ramp became dislodged and Employee #1 fell 14 ft to the ground. She was taken to the hospital where she died 11 hours later.
