Event: 09/02/1996
Employee injured in fall while climbing down building

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on September 2, 1996, Employee #1, age 16, finished cleaning debris from a 14 ft high, low-sloped roof. He began to scale down the side of the building and was only a few steps down when a wooden support piece onto which he was holding, broke. Employee #1 fell to the ground, severely dislocating his elbow. Emergency services was notified and he was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital. Employee #1 had been climbing down the building because no ladder or other form of safe access/egress was available.
