Employee's hand injured in roller

At approximately 3:10 p.m. on November 20, 1992, Employee #1 was cleaning a cake cylinder. The safety guards had been removed to allow access to the entire roller. For some reason, the roller rotated and caught the employee's hand between the roller and the metal housing. His thumb and index finger were partially severed from his right hand. He also sustained topical lacerations to his right hand. He was transported to Emanual Hospital, where he underwent surgery.
