Employee falls from elevated platform and fractures ankle

At 5:15 p.m. on May 19, 2017, an employee was assembling a semi-trailer on a 3 foot high platform. The employee fell approximately 33 inches from the platform when it gave way while the employee was standing on it. The employee sustained a broken left ankle collar, nerve damage and two broken bones in their left foot. The employee was hospitalized overnight and had to have multiple surgeries to repair his foot and ankle.
