Employee dies of heart attack suffered at work

On June 18, 1994, Employee #1, of ECM Motor Co. Management, and an industrial truck operator were putting bar stock away on the receiving dock. Employee #1 was walking on the floor guiding the bar stock as it was moved by the industrial truck. At approximately 8:30 a.m., after 2 1/2 hours of work, Employee #1 and the truck operator took a break. At approximately 8:50 a.m. they resumed working. At this time, Employee #1 complained of a headache and the industrial truck operator noticed that Employee #1 was sweating. Almost immediately Employee #1 complained about "blacking out." Emergency medical services were called and Employee #1 was cared for by the industrial truck operator until they arrived. Employee #1 died of a heart attack at approximately 9:40 a.m. while being transported to the hospital.
