ELECTRIC SHOCK - CONTACT WITH OVERHEAD LINE THRU CONDUCTOR

An electrical contractor had assigned some employees that had been hired for the summer to remove some deenergized overhead power lines. As the employees were taking down one of the conductors, it contacted an energized overhead power line. Two employees, who were standing on the ground holding the conductor, received electric shocks. One of them, a 16-year-old boy, was electrocuted. The other was knocked away. (The second injured employee was not listed on an injury line on the original form.)
