Employee dies after fall against steel stud

Employee #1 was pushing a wheelbarrow on the fifth floor of an unfinished high-rise construction project. His job was to clean up the excess concrete dust and refuse created from pouring concrete flooring. He tripped in an area of corrugated metal subflooring and fell on his tailbone area against a Nelson steel stud protruding 5 7/8 in. from the floor. The rectal area was punctured. Employee #1 was taken right away for medical treatment but died of an uncontrolled infection several weeks later.
