Investigation Summary
Employee #1 placed his pocketknife in an unguarded chain and sprocket area below the conveyor. When Employee #1 finished working for the day, he went to get his pocketknife from the unguarded area below the conveyor and the tip of his right finger was caught between the unguarded chain and sprocket. Employee #1's right ring finger was amputated as a result of his injury. Employee #1 was taken to the hospital, and treated for his injury.
