Employee injures thumb while dumping forklift-mounted bin

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on March 30, 1999, Employee #1, a 19-year-old old forklift operator, was dumping a forklift-mounted trash bin at his employer's vehicle manufacturing facility. He sustained a compound fracture and open wound of his left thumb. Employee #1 was transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center, where he was hospitalized for three days.
