Employee is injured while dismounting forklift

On January 8, 2004, Employee #1, a forklift driver with Grimmway Farms, was driving forklift Number 273 in a lemon plant stacking area. After stopping the forklift, he exited on the side opposite the driver's side. As he stepped down, he slipped and fell. He tried to break his fall with his right arm and sustained a compound fracture to his lower right arm. Employee #1 was hospitalized at Mercy Hospital.
