Employee injured when entangled by rope and fell down

On May 9, 2003, Employee #1 was exiting the building where she works, Senior Aerospace in Burbank, California, when a rope got entangled around her leg and she tripped. Employee #1 works in an office environment, and there is a side exit door close to her department that everyone uses to leave the building in lieu of the main exit doors which are at the other end of the building. The rope was used during the summer months to hold the door open. Employee #1's supervisor was not in the area when the incident occurred. There were no witnesses. Employee #1 was wearing safety shoes with no heels at the time of the incident. Employee #1 sustained a fractured ankle and was hospitalized for other than observation.
