Employee injured when golf cart rolled over

At 10:45 a.m. on August 21, 2000, Employee #1, a landscape gardener, was seriously injured when a golf cart rolled over on him while he was attempting to adjust an accelerator pedal while lying under the front end of the golf cart. A passing student saw the trapped worker and summoned help that lifted the cart off Employee #1. Emergency Medical Services was called and the injured Employee #1 was transported to a local trauma center by helicopter. X-rays revealed a fractured left wrist. A metal plate was attached to set the wrist, and Employee #1 was moved to a rehabilitation center for strength therapy. Employee #1 returned to work on December 18, 2000, with some lifting restrictions.
