Investigation Summary
On July 18, 1995, Employee #1, of a pump manufacturing company, was assembling wooden shipping crates using a pneumatic nail gun. The air line snagged on an object. When Employee #1 tugged to free the line, he squeezed the trigger and brushed against his leg with the nail gun, firing a nail into his lower right leg. He was hospitalized for less than 24 hours to have the nail surgically removed. Subsequently, he missed approximately one month of work.
