Employee's finger amputated in mast chain of forklift

Employee #1, of Paper Pak Products, was using a forklift to lower a pallet of rolls so he could tag it. With the load elevated and the lift running, he was reaching through the mast chain area to apply the tag when his leg inadvertently pushed the DOWN lever. The forks dropped and his right middle finger became caught in the chain and was amputated above the knuckle.
